How long have you been using kettlebells and how did you get started?

I had never used Kettlebells before attending the introductory session in September (2013) of this year, so I have been using them for about 3 months now.

What attracted you to kettlebell training?

I have always enjoyed using weights in the gym but have never enjoyed doing cardio.. For some reason Kettlebells had always interested me and when I found there was a club in Bristol doing classes I decided I would give it a go.

 Were you nervous about starting?

Yes of course, but there was nothing to be nervous about. Pete is a brilliant trainer who is extremely knowledgeable. Every one in the classes is friendly, helpful and approachable and I now really look forward to going to classes.

There is a lot of hype surrounding kettlebell training, what kind of specific results have you seen?

I have lost two inches off my waist since doing the classes and 1.5 stone of weight, and have toned up all over my body and become stronger. I also have a lot more energy now than I ever did before.
 

Do you play sport or take part in other fitness activities?

In the summer I go surfing and paddle boarding as well as sailing but nothing in the winter months.

 

Have you seen any carry over from using kettlebells?

Not as yet as I have not been out surfing or paddle boarding but I definitely feel stronger and more energetic and so I hope my paddle boarding has improved.

Do you have any goals that you are working towards?

I would like to lose a bit more weight and continue to get stronger.

 

What would you say to anyone who is thinking about joining Bristol Kettlebell club?

Just do it! There is nothing to worry about, Pete is a great trainer who is full of helpful advice, everyone at the classes are really friendly, you wont regret it!

Pete says - Josh enjoys training and is very consistent, hitting two sessions each week almost without fail, hence why he has seen such great benefits such as losing 20 pounds in his first 3 months. His strength journey has only just begun, but with his attention to detail for kettlebell technique, it will be interesting to see how far he can go! Congratulations on your success so far Josh, we will have that six pack popping out before you know it! :)
